To Whom It May Concern:
It seems I have been counseling or providing some sort of motivational support or advise to others my entire life. Helping others has been an integral part of my adulthood and I wish to pursue this passion further by getting my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. I am writing this letter to introduce myself in hopes of entering the job force in the field of Mental/Behavioral Healthcare Services. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Texas Pan American and have since been working in the Financial Services Industry. While I have enjoyed my career in Finance, I have now decided to return to the Mental Health Profession.

I have taken all of my jobs very seriously and am confident I will work diligently in this endeavor as well. Leaving my career at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney was a difficult decision as I enjoyed my work and my peers. As I looked toward my future, however, I knew I was not working to my fullest potential. Looking back on my life, I've discovered where my true passion for life lies and where I can make the biggest contribution. Being able to put people at ease so they may clearly express themselves is a gift not all posses. I am thankful I have this ability and do not take it lightly.

While working for Southern Careers Institute and Hallmark College, I had the opportunity to advise our students not only on their academic progress but with their personal issues as well. Many of them had serious family issues ranging from physical and mental abuse to substance abuse. It was so important to them to be able to have an emotional outlet and it gave me a sense of pride and accomplishment being able to provide that safe and objective environment for them.

I am very interested in becoming a part of the Mental/Behavioral Healthcare Profession as I believe it is where I belong. Please give me your most serious consideration as I am eager to begin this new chapter in my life. Together, I am confident we can and will make a difference in people's lives.
